Attention- sexual pain can be the result of inflammation
Painful intercourse refers to discomfort or even pain during or after the sex. Some only happened soon after the marriage, while others will continue after marriage for a long time. The pain sometimes only occurs in the vulva, and sometimes also appears inside of the vagina, even affecting the back and lower abdomen.
Pain can occur both during and after the sex, some can even last for several days after the sexual life. 1. Physiologic sexual pain
When having a feeling of sexual arousal, the genitals are congestive, and pelvic organizations can produce different levels of stress, causing a contraction or convulsion. This mainly induces a kind of physiologic sexual pain and the onset is always sudden.
In addition, some women are allergic to semen. The prostaglandins in seminal fluid can lead to uterine contractions. Retroverted uterus and sex position oppress the uterus, attachment and bladder, changing the position of organs and pulling the surrounding tissue. They can also lead to sexual pain.
In general, the sexual pain caused by above symptoms often appears in the first intercourse. As this is mainly due to lack of sexual experience, the pain will gradually reduce when the sexual experience is increasingly abundant.
2.The influence of disease
Except for the physical sexual intercourse pain, some diseases can also cause the same symptoms. The most common disease are various inflammation such as the vulva and vaginitis, endometritis, annexitis and cystitis. Besides, uterine fibroid and pelvic tumors will cause pelvic congestion. So these diseases will also lead to sexual intercourse pain. And this pain can also be associated with menstrual disorders, abnormal vaginal discharge and some other symptoms.

3.Menopause
For women in the menopausal transition and menopause, as the ovarian function declines, leading to low levels of estrogen, the vaginal mucosa becomes thinner and the discharge reduces. This may also be a reason for painful intercourse.
Under this circumstance, females can maintain normal sexual life by adequate foreplay and if necessary, with the help of artificial lubricant.
